An apt title just reading Alberts previous interview with Twink Pornster Andy Kay and reviewing his work so far is like trying to keep an eye on a fast moving train.
One of the hardest working models in Gay Porn (33 plus scenes at Boy Crush) work at Helix and Lucas Entertainment (A Scorching 3 way with Ryan Raz and Wilifred Knight) as well as Thexis (Toegasms).
Then add cameraman,model scout,production assistant,editing,scripting,music,photos and office jobs,College and freelance video work, you cant help but think of Andy Kay as Gay Porns Wunderkind! Yes just 21 this month!
Twinkblood is the first of several planned theme,scripted DVD’s from BoyCrush Studios and Andys extensive work on the Video involved writing the script, the music score and 2nd camera. I planned on reviewing the Movie and realized it was time for a follow up interview with Andy Kay who has been featured here in 2 previous interviews.

Hello Andy Kay first of all I want to thank you for sending Twinkblood my way for review (which will follow) I noticed opening the box you included some BoyCrush Wristbands and your letter to everyone you sent the DVD to.
Boycrush has a unique following and fanbase, and you,Bryan and the the whole team and models cultivate thru the forum,personnel appearances in Phoenix(Events,) etc a real connection to fans and customers that many Gay Porn Co’s simply lack. So the wrist bands were a small reminder of why BoyCrush is different than the competition.
The other thing I noticed was your letter, signed Andy Kay Production Manager.
Andy I have attached here your first interview with Albert May 2008, I think you had been working at Boy Crush for roughly 6 months at the time as a model. You were 19, in a few days your going to turn 21!
So a lot has happened in your life since Andy Kay On The Prowl in May 2008!
Andy first how does it feel to turn 21? Is this a big birthday for you? Do you plan anything special?
I don’t really know how I feel about it. I’ve always felt a lot older than I am so now that I’m “of age” . . . I dunno, its a weird feeling. A lot of things are happening at once now though. I just bought and closed on my house. Its a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath in Mesa, close enough to the Boycrush office but not too close
. My DJ work is taking off and I feel like I’ve really accomplished a lot in the few years I’ve lived out in AZ.
I’ll say I dont think I know any 20 year olds who have bought a house!
Bryans renting out part of BS West (a local gay club in Scottsdale) for the traditional “drink til you puke” celebration. I don’t drink often so I doubt I’ll last the hour.
We had a hint in the first interview you were already working behind the scenes at BoyCrush now a year and a half later your Production Manager, why dont you explain what all you do at BoyCrush?
It’s a funny thing. I worked hard to get this job at the beginning but my experience from college and high school in film, music, etc. made it all easier to get a hang of. Now I do all the rough video editing, script writing, photo editing, music production, half the filming, general model wrangling, and countless generic office jobs. It’s become a big part of my life and it baffles me sometimes the skills I’ve learned in such a short time. Bryan does a good job of teaching and then letting me go to make my own mistakes. I think it’s the biggest reason why I’ve excelled here. It’s also paved the way for me to start filming outside of Boycrush and porn in general.
The Studio just released Twinkblood the first original content DVD Boycrush has released, I can tell everyone on this project is excited about the DVD, BoyCrush’s first made for DVD title (previous DVD’s were web scenes) You and Bryan worked hard on this video and it shows, you have a good cast and everyone had fun. The behind the scenes are great,a very revealing glimpse of you and Bryan Kennys shooting style.
Its very obvious you two both compliment each other, you are both in sync on shooting action, the editing between both camera angles is very smooth.
So the question you are both very creative guys how do you handle creative differences? This DVD is very different from just shooting a 15min web scene!
Bryan and I butt heads sometimes. I love serious and intense camera shots and movie feel while Bryan has a knack for the comedic and down and dirty action. I think we feed off of each other. We’ll shoot a scene two different ways and then when we look at the final edit, we’re both professional enough to know which one of our ideas works best. It gets frustrating sometimes but I think all in all we make a good team.
Twinkblood was something Bryan had been considering for a long time. We only thought of the name as production came to a close. I had originally titled it “Twink Vampire Diaries” or some shit like that when I’d written the script. I’m glad to see that you could feel the fun we had come through because that was the original idea. With a lot of studios dropping out of this kind of production we wanted to see how we could do with it. We chose a cast we knew were experienced and that we could have fun with and it all just came together.
Okay how many scenes for the website do you shoot in a month? Why would you all decide to add to the work by filming DVD’s are you both gluttons for work or is this a creative release a way of reinvigorating and recharging?
With Boycrush and Baretwinks we have approximately 12 updates a month and we try to shoot several more than that to keep ahead. It’s not so bad considering 4 are solos but we keep ourselves busy. I think that filming DVDs gives us the chance to spice up both our DVD and web content. This way, if you buy a DVD your getting more than just the 5 or 6 scenes you’ve already seen on the site. It makes things more interesting for us too. It pushes our creative limits and makes us better at our job. My biggest goal is to kill the amateur feel and bring everything up to the professional level.
To answer your question though, we’re both workaholics. We’ve had weeks where we’ve worked 7 days for 12 hours a day getting stuff done. We try to have as much fun as possible to ease the stress.
Forbidden is kind of the BoyCrush hangout we have all seen numerous pix taken at the club, why is this? Besides the obvious 18+ policy.Its in Scottsdale which I always think of as fuddy duddy (I had an Aunt who lived in Glendale) Bryan a partner in the club? How was the Release party Chase Harding said he dont remember much after 1AM!

Oh, and Scottsdale is incredibly “fuddy duddy.” Forbidden is a good exception though.
No surprise you scored Twinkblood we all learned of your musical background in the first interview, So was scoring a challenge? A common refrain is scoring for Video/film/TV can be difficult because of the need to match what is happening on screen without detracting from the action. The fact your dealing with a porno seems more a challenge.
I’ve been working on electronic and acoustic music for a long time. I haven’t come out with anything spectacular yet, I’m still perfecting but Twinkblood was a good way to flex what I’ve learned and put it to use. I think everyone was happy with it, its better than the generic royalty free shit most people use anyway. We still don’t score the sex scenes, that’s always been a boycrush rule, but making spooky pads, themes, and vamps for the movie weren’t too difficult and I think they fit pretty well. That’s pretty much for you guys to decide. The rule of thumb with film is that you should never notice the music over whats happening in the scenes. If it doesn’t draw attention away then it’s doing its job.

You mentioned you started DJ ing, Now you have joined the Pornstar DJ fraternity! Dominic Pacfico and Pierre Fitch come to mind as well as ChiCHi. What made you get into this? Just a hobby that you became very good at? Sounds like a very cool job to have and a bit of ego stroking DJ’s get a lot of Club attention!
Lol, ya I kinda just fell into it. I’ve always been into music and a DJ let me use her tables one time at a party while she was drinking. The girl couldn’t believe I’d never done it before. It just came really easy. Soon after that I bought my own equipment and starting working on my own and with some friends. I’ve improved a lot and have done lots of events. I spin electro club mostly but my secret obsession is drum n’ bass. I hope to branch out to other things and I’d love to start doing porn parties and other events. I like to bridge the gap between hard techno and popular hip-hop music to give things a little spice. If you want to listen to hard hip-hop then why not just stay home and listen to the radio. It’s called club music for a reason.
So Twinkblood is the the first and a strong effort for BoyCrush, in my opinion it gives fans and customers a chance to see a bit more of the personality of their favs. I for one loved watching Patrick Kennedy one of my BoyCrush Favs he has been an enigma and it was great to see him on the Behind the scenes letting us get a glimpse of his fun goofy side.
What kind of feedback have you received on Twinkblood from fans and customers?
All good so far. Our sales from Store.boycrush.com have quadrupled with most people purchasing that along with a few of our other titles. I think people enjoy it, some of the best sex scenes I’ve ever filmed are in it so you really can’t go wrong.
There was one quote I wanted to share. This is from industry legend Kevin Clarke:

So what do you guys have planned next? For your next DVD?
We have two DVDs on the same caliber as Twinkblood. One is a dark bondage style film based on the Saw films called “RAW.” It’ll be out later this year. There’s some good acting and it gets pretty intense. Bondage isn’t really my thing but Bryan really took hold of this one when it comes to the sex scenes. It’s good and dirty, I’ll just say that.
Another one which will be release this month is one of my personal projects that I’ve worked on for a while. It was originally going to be released before Twinkblood but we decided to wait and get that one out on Halloween. This one is a revolutionary DVD. It’s based on the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books you used to read as a kid. It’s entitled “Choose Your Own Adventure, Tales from Twink Manor.” Its the first porn script I was able to bring to life and still perform in it. It has a lot of really hot actors as well. The DVD is unique because it gives the user the ability to choose where they want the models to go and what they want them to do. If they don’t like one avenue they can backtrack and choose another one or just start back at the beginning. I’ve never seen anything like it in the industry and I think it’s pretty revolutionary. The sex is fricken’ hot too.
I need to mention Chase Harding and Felix Russo. Chase was perfect for the lead here, he has just the right attitude and was completely believable as a corrupter of Twinks! But Felix Russo what a find for Boy Crush he has a real sensual side and in the sex scenes seems to really get into having sex on camera. I do hope we see more of both guys!
Felix is a great new model. He’s got a knack for performing. His scenes will be out on Boycrush starting on the 10th. They’re fucking good, and I don’t say that about many scenes.
Chase is good as always and he deserves the cover he got.

You been working a lot as a Freelance cameraman both porn and non porn, something you plan to pursue more? Tell me please you dont shoot weddings! Football games I can understand but dealing with bridezillas OMG! (I did the wedding thing)
Haha. No weddings yet. I’ve done a lot of sports which I enjoy as well as a few other audio recording things. It’s a lot of fun and I’ll pursue it as long as there’s work for me. I’ll have another football game over thanksgiving and hopefully another big shoot with Thexis before the year is out. I’d love to see myself become like Mr. Pam when it comes to freelance work. That woman is fantastically talented.
You cant go WRONG following Mr.Pams work ethic! In your first interview you described shooting porn as work, sometimes hell, sometimes fun but you said it did wonders for your sex life! Still hold to that view?
Haha, no, I dont really have much of a sex life anymore, as sad as that is. I keep myself pretty busy. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices to be able to do everything I do and it’s worth it. I’m fine with putting the love life on hold and just let that work itself out on its own.
Do you do a lot of recruiting for BoyCrush or do the models find their way to you guys.
I used to. A lot of my friends have worked for the company as you’ve probably noticed. A lot of guys just find us though. The recruiting we do at Phoenix Pride is always the most successful.

What do you do to de-stress and just get away from work you live in a City that has some incredible scenery all within 2 hrs driving time. You camp,hike, connect with nature or do you just find an indoor getaway?
A vacation for me is sitting somewhere and doing nothing. My getaway is Denver. I just go out there to relax and enjoy not even having the ability to work even if i wanted to. Just chill with some good friends. I still check my email three or four times a day but the relaxation is enough.
I’m still an eagle scout and do the outdoor thing occasionally. Time is just always an issue.

So 21 what do you see next, your own company? A partnership with Bryan? Or something else entirely?
Haha, I don’t want to mention many of my personal plans when it comes to the industry but I do plan on taking the things I’ve built and growing with them, especially the freelance and DJ work. I’ve also obtained my associates degree in business and am working on the bachelors. It’s just for the piece of paper honestly though.
Also, believe it or not, I plan to take another run in the porn industry in a few years. I’m done with the twink thing but am working on bulking up. I think it’d be a lot of fun to take another go at it when I’ve prepared myself and the time is right. It worked pretty well the first time around.
Why not the longest most successful careers in porn or acting come from constant reinvention. If Brent Corrigan can transform himself from 115lb waif to Muscle Twunk you can!
You have worked a bit for Thexis the other Phoenix company any plans for more work with them? (both in front and behind the camera)
Behind at least, when they need me. I’ve only gotten good reviews with the stuff I’ve filmed for them so I dont see any reason why It wont continue.
Anything you want to add? You have certainly not shied away from commenting about the state of and practices in your industry.
I think there’s a lot of things wrong with the industry as I’ve let people know countless times.
I.E. Safe Sex Campaign. (below) There’s another side of it too that I’ve discovered while working in it. The professional side of it with hard working businessmen and women who take something they’re passionate about and make it new and revolutionary. People who care more about the industry than just making a cheap buck and about shitting on models and other industry members because they feel what they do is all that matters.
I think before I didn’t feel like there could possibly be a future for me in porn past a few years but now I think that there’s no other avenue. I’ve buried myself into it and I’m going to keep doing everything in my power to keep changing it and making it more fantastic. Twinkblood and the others are only the beginning. Just keep watching, people, it can only get better from here.
